My Recount

Trip To Te Tuhi
On Monday The Year 5 students and Mrs Melville drew down to Te Tuhi  so that we can make Vertical gardens. We made Vertical gardens because so that we can help nature and the gardens. We recycled bottles, decorated them and put in pumas and dirt.

Firstly we ate lunch. I went to eat with my friends. Then Mrs Melville told us how we are going to go to Te Tuhi. We splited up and then we went into a car. I went in the School Van with Mrs Melville and my friends but it was sad that I didn't get to sit with them because there was no room. A little while later we had arrived first to Te Tuhi. There were some amazing things around there and Rm 25 was just about to leave. Soon all of Rm 29 was here. Then Jeremy was waiting for us at the Foya and we talked about what we were going to make. Then Jeremy introduced us to the photographer that was going to take pictures of us making vertical gardens. Jeremy also introduced us to some helpers that were going to help us if we had any troubles on  something.  A couple of minutes later Jeremy took us to the art room where we were going to make vertical gardens. Then one of the helpers talked about the earth mother (Ranginui) and the sky father (Papatuanuku). We learned that the sky father got pushed away because the earth mother was borning her babies. The more bigger the babies grow the more that the sky father splits up. Finaly we started making our Vertical gardens. We started by cutting the bottom of a bottle and then we started decorating with vivids and see through stickers. When everybody finished decorating their bottles we started filling them up with special rocks called pumas. They say that pumas are rocks made by lava. Then we filled the pumas with dirt and lastley we put our flowers in. We then went to see some artistic pictures that artists made. Finally we said goodbye and went back to school.

I had a great day and I think making vertical gardens are fun espically when your decorating.
